Tragus piercings...has anyone had these done?

Considering getting my tragus pierced on both ears but I have a few questions and hoping to find some people who have had it pierced.

On a scale of 1-10, 1 being no pain and 10 being child birth, how bad did it hurt?

How long does it take to heal?

Would you consider it worse than a lip or nose piercing? (I have one of each and don't remember them being that painful but it's been almost 7 years since I had them done)

How much does 1 cost and was the jewelry included in the price?

Should I do one or both in the same sitting?

Any other info would be greatly appreciated, thank you.

I would honestly rather have triplets than redo my tragus. The piercing itself wasn't painful, but the aftermath was.

The cartilage you're piercing through is thick and doesn't really want to be pierced. Makes a disgusting crunching sound that made me gag. It's also VERY very very prone to infection. I don't know a single person who either a) isn't red and swollen, or b) hasn't taken out their piercing because it was red and swollen.

Healing time (if ever) is at least three or four months.

Nose, lip, septum, ears, conch and nape were all a walk in the park compared to this.

My piercing alone was $40, and the jewelry was $100. With a piercing like this you want the BEST materials on the market. That either means real precious metals like platinum and gold, or it means surgical implant grade titanuim. You can't get anything cheap or nikel plated.

If you listen to music, wear headphones, wear hats, wear your hair down, or sleep on your side then do one at a time. Since it takes a long long time to heal you want to have one ear that still functions.

I'd look into something else, tragus piercings almost always end up nasty. Conch instead, maybe?

The pain caused by the piercing and the application of its jewelry varies from person to person. The needle is driven through very little skin and thicker cartilage than that found in the helix (another common piercing site), but less than that of the conch. Although the tragus itself has no nerve endings, some piercees experience pain. I would do one & see how it goes for you

    good-luck

Look at tribal persons, they are often pierced and decorated in any part of their body as a social, cultural or status symbol. We choose to define ourselves by the way we look, piercings are just an extension of this. Although they do leave scars, unlike a new hand bag or pair of shoes. Also some people don't take kindly to piercings, remember they are only new in western society. I removed all of my facial piercings in order to get a respectable job. I know I didnt have to by law, but I bet it sure helped me to have a standardised face.

1 as far as pain goes, and I've had it done with a needle and a gun, several times.

Healing, I had problems with one ear developing a lump and ended up removing it..then decided to remove both as I either wanted one in each ear or none at all.

Lip piercing was a hell of a lot more painful!

I can't remember the price, my guess would be around 40 but that's just a guess.

They tend to get in the way when you sleep and can get caught in your hair.

i did a tragus for my friend and its pretty hard to do so make sure the person you go to is really good

it took her like 3 months to heal or 4 months i dont remember

do not to both in the same sitting, my friend said it hurt like hell and i iced it and everything

i bought her 5 rings for christmas and it cost me 5 bucks, but the guy i bought it from is one of my best buds so..

i reallylike lips piercings and i think nose piercing are pkay, tragus is definetly the worst and prolly the most dangerous too, unless you get like an infection with a nose peircing, so idk you should really like think about ecverything before you get one cuz its really hard to do
