The Bible says, "give thanks in all circumstances, for this is God's will for you in Christ Jesus.?

Can you also give thanks to God, when you mess up and things go wrong and u had to be out of a relation without you wanting it to happen. How can I thank God when I made a mistake which cannot be reverted and so lose a relation. Your help is much appreciated

It does not mean to thank God for things that go wrong; but to be thankful that you have a relationship with God and that your sins are forgiven and that you have peace with God, and someone to take all your problems to in prayer and faith.

    Elsewhere we read:

"Rejoice in the Lord always. I will say it again: Rejoice! Let your gentleness be evident to all. The Lord is near. Do not be anxious about anything, but in everything, by prayer and petition, with thanksgiving, present your requests to God. And the peace of God, which transcends all understanding, will guard your hearts and your minds in Christ Jesus. "

    Philippians 4:4-7

As Christians, our joy or success does not depend on circumstances, but on the greater spiritual realities that are revealed to us by faith in the Gospel.

If you have sinned, you can confess your sin and receive cleansing from God through faith in the blood of Jesus.

If you have screwed up - join the club ! We have all screwed up. Learn from your mistakes. Repent - change the way you think, change the way you do things, and learn to do things God's way by reading and doing His word - the Bible - especially the New Testament.

Have faith in God. he can make what you perceive to be an evil thing to become a good thing. Joseph was sold into slavery by his own brothers. It was the first step in his becoming ruler over all Egypt - second only to Pharaoh (Genesis 37-46)

We cannot always know why things happen the way they do. We can only thank God that He's there with us and never leaves us nor forsakes us, through thick and thin.

I know I've been where you're at a few times. You feel like you messed up royally and now everything is trashed. I think we've all been there at least once. It sucks.

But you will gain wisdom from this incident that you probably would not have otherwise.

Take heart in the fact that you're not a first schmuck to screw up a relationship.

No matter how many mistakes we make, Jesus is always there to help us get up and get moving again. No, I'm not always happy with the way things turn out, but I can always thank God that He said, "I will never leave you nor forsake you." What a treasure that promise is! Sometimes God leads us out of one relationship so He can lead us into another, or into a new opportunity that we wouldn't have seen otherwise. Praise Him, thank Him, trust in Him always, and you can never go wrong.

There is much to thank God for, even in all things ( see James 1:2-5 ). You may have been spared from a relationship in which you didn't know many things, which may have hurt you if it continued. God has much better in store for you than one relationship, and you may have never known if this didn't happen. Thank God He is with you, no matter what happens in your life. Relationships may come and go, but God will abide forever.

Mike was going good until he claimed the Bible is consistent. I didn't bother to read the rest of his rant. As for me, I don't accept propositions supported only by circuitous arguments.

a man was mugged one night on his way home from work. the first thing he did when he got home was to kneel down and give thanks. first, he said thanks that even though he was robbed, he was not hurt. second, he said thanks that even though all of his money was stolen, he had very little money to begin with. third, he thanked God that he was not the one doing the stealing. there were more things he thanked God for, but i can't remember what they were! anyway, the point is, there is always a reason to give thanks in every circumstance.

how can you thank God when you made a mistake? well, first, of course, you ask forgiveness and try not to do that anymore. then, you could thank Him for the lesson you learned from this. you could thank Him for the way He is going to use this in your life and in the lives of others who were involved. you can thank Him for another chance to try to do better. you can ask Him for help in restoring this relationship, if it's His will, and thank Him for that. you can thank Him for listening to and answering your prayers. there are many things to be grateful for. count your blessings! love in Christ.

Yes, you should give thanks to God no matter what happens to you, (both good and bad). God is very pleased with this because it shows that you put your trust in him no matter what.

That's what Abraham? did with his son in the old testament. God put him to the test - he asked him to sacrifice his own son. He was prepared to do it - when God said STOP. God only wanted to know how much Abraham trusted him, he didn't want him to kill his son.

In the midst of all circumstances, give thanks to God, for all He has done.He will even take what seems as a mess, and use it for your ultimate best. Romans 8:28

You are not supposed to say "Thank you God that I did this mistake" but "Thank you God that you are willing to forgive me, and help me to start a new life"
