Will Al Gore ever tell the truth again?

Once, again Al Gore is caught in a lie. This time, he said "These figures are fresh. Some of the models suggest to Dr [Wieslav] Maslowski that there is a 75 per cent chance that the entire north polar ice cap, during the summer months, could be completely ice-free within five to seven years.”

The problem is, not only is this data not fresh, even the scientist attributed with saying it says he is factually wrong, "It’s unclear to me how this figure was arrived at,” Dr Maslowski said. “I would never try to estimate likelihood at anything as exact as this.”

This story follows close on the heals of his previous lies. He recently said in an interview that the earth's core is "several millions degrees" (not even close), and that the climate gate e-mails were all from 10 years ago (e-mails in climate gate are dated as of Nov 2009).

So the real question is, is Al Gore a habitual liar, or just plain stupid?

And the final question, who would be dumb enough to listen to this guy?

Update:

Benjamin,

NO he absolutely makes it up. The scientist he was supposedly quoting even said he was making it up.

Al Gore just doesn't make stuff up; he gets his information from the scientists. Ice free summers in the Arctic by 2013[1] was a number being thrown around as a remote possibility. However by 2030 is probably a more likely date.

Edit: Dr. Maslowski does say that he "would never try to estimate likelihood at anything as exact as this.” But ice free Arctic summers a possibility in 5-7 years part isn't made up.

Neither, well, what Al Gore is doesn't matter.

The fact that does matter is that previously climate scientists have been able to speak in absurd generalities. An example is 75% change of blah blah blah, maybe it's an anomaly but percentages such as 75%, 1%, 90%, 10% etc.occur in science in one and only one case... when someone is guessing. Maybe the figure was rounded, maybe it wasn't, but I hear 75% from scientists mouth or via a politician and all I hear is some one talking out of their ***.

I really think that despite their best efforts to marginalize the CRU emails, many scientists realize that taking certain leniency when reporting results to the media and others may result is some very severe questioning from those who are not worthy (non climate-scientists).

Which areas of Antarctica have you ever been to? in keeping with threat we've been to the comparable places. you do not understand plenty approximately climate exchange do you? The tone and content fabric of your writing makes this obvious. there is not any disputing that worldwide warming is genuine - even the Bush administration and each important oil organization contained in the international now accepts it (have not got self belief me? Then circulate to three oil organization web pages and spot what they might desire to declare approximately climate exchange). in case you certainly shield that 'Globale warming is all a pile a crap' then you particularly're in an exceedingly small minority without political allies and extremely few commercial allies. the international has woken up and accepts worldwide warming is actuality. there is debate as to easily how plenty is consequently of anthropogenic motives however the easy question as to if worldwide warming is genuine replaced into general doubtless some years in the past. i might conflict via each and every ingredient of your question and systematically disprove it yet sadly, it would do no stable as you seem to have a attitude that no volume of uncomplicated experience of shown medical certainty is going to regulate. Regardless as to something Al Gore mentioned, I do think of it is exciting which you accuse him of not getting his info straight away, you will desire to get your man or woman homestead so as first.

Gore's biggest rhetorical trick is saying that the Earth has a fever. He says that 10 of the hottest years in history came in the last 11 years, and this proves we must do something, because, "If your baby has a fever, you go to the doctor."

This is meaningless. The Earth has been much, much hotter in the past than today. No giant space nanny fed it medicine.

Moreover, a healthy baby has a constant temperature - that's why a fever is bad. The Earth does not have a constant temperature. It has been generally warming since the end of the Little Ice Age in the early 19th century, but that has not been uniform. It's had warming phases (the 1920s and 1930) and cooling phases (the 1940s to 1970s).

It's also had periods like today, when temperatures are flat - there hasn't been much warming since 1998. Yes, it's warmer today than it was a hundred years ago, but that's not necessarily a bad thing. Talking about fevers is misleading, but it's a great rhetorical trick.

Al Gore is first and foremost a politician and he works for the UN which is after all a political body, not a scientific body.I think we will all agree that politicians are habitual liars who actually knuckle down to corporate interests.
