Gaming too hard on computer?

For some reason I couldn't find anything about this on Google, which makes me think it might not be an issue, but... Will playing newer games like Modern Warfare 2 on my Macbook Pro 13" be somehow bad for it. I try not to play for too long, but sometimes I get caught up in it and could play for hours. I try to keep it cool with a cooling pad, but I have no control over the internal fans because I'm using bootcamp. I may be overreacting, but I don't want that $1500 to go to waste because I wanted to play a game. So will some good old gaming do any harm, or am I ok.

Macbooks aren't built for gaming, that's why we have PCs. With any computer you run the risk of overheating and hurting your computer. Hopefully you are able to keep it cool and don't fry the insides. As long as you are careful and don't run it too long as well as don't run it on high settings, you should be okay.

Well the requirements for MW2 are here: http://multiplayerblog.mtv.com/2009/10/23/modern-w...

compare your system to this (click my computer and when it comes up, right click anywhere w/o icons and click properties)

If your lack anything besides GHz, you can buy it...if your lack GHz then you wiill have to get a new chip(which can be expensive) also i recommend you use a desktop, as desktops have more housing space than a laptop and can cooldown faster (if your cpu get to a certain point with heat, it will start to function a little worse)

Anytime they overheat you run the risk of a component failure and running high games has a tendency to burn out components

You actually paid $1500 for a laptop? You probably should have asked that question BEFORE you threw away that kind of money.
