Should I get 1GB or 2GB 6950?
I was looking into getting a new graphics card and decided on the AMD Radeon HD 6950. Here is the problem: the card comes in a 1GB configuration, and a 2GB. As of right now I do not see any advantages of getting the 2GB over the 1GB. Are there any? Is it only for future proofing? I buy a new card every 3-4 years, so would the 2GB be necessary?
5 AnswersAdd-ons1 decade agoWhich camera should I get?
I am looking at these two cameras and these two ONLY: the Pentax K-x, and the Canon Rebel T1i. The Pentax is $650 or $750 with an extra 200mm lens. The Canon is $700 at BestBuy. Which would you choose and WHY? I read that the Pentax has better overall picture quality and slightly more features (i.e. more shots per second during burst, etc.). I will be using this camera for a variety of different types of photography and want the camera to be flexible. I know each has 720p and the Canon has 1080p video, but I'm not too worried about video. Thanks ahead of time!
3 AnswersCameras1 decade agoCan I get the K-x in a different color?
BandH photo has a great price on the Pentax K-x kit with the 50-200mm lens, but they only have it in black. Is there any way to get the same price but in white or navy blue?
1 AnswerCameras1 decade agoWhich Pentax K-x kit should I get?
I've been looking into digital slrs and I think I'm pretty much set on the Pentax K-x. I saw a kit with the normal 18-55mm lens and a 200mm lens or one with a 300mm. The 300mm is $100 more, do you guys think it's worth the money or should I just stick with the 200mm?
3 AnswersCameras1 decade agoWhere should I place my computer case fans?
I have a fairly new computer that runs fairly hot. I plan on getting a new cpu cooler to bring that down a little and maybe overclock a little. My video card (xfx ati radeon hd 5750) is barelly overclocked and has gotten in the 80's (C) while playing Bioshock. I will have one 80mm fan and 2 120mm fans. Where would be the best place for each fan and what direction should they be pushing air?
i.e. I know the fan on the back should be blowing out, but what size should I put back there? Should I put the 80 or a 120 on the side blowing in or out? I also know front should be blowing in.
2 AnswersDesktops1 decade agoHow well will this computer run Modern Warfare 2?
I've already asked this about my MacBook Pro, but, how well will my new rig play Modern Warfare 2? Do any of you have similar specs? What settings can you play at?
MoBo-Asus
CPU-AMD Athlon II X2 250 Dual Core-3ghz
RAM-2gb ddr2-6400-800mhz
7200-rpm hd
Nvidia Geforce 9400 gt video card-512 mb ddr2
I plan on overclocking everything just a little bit, but I don't want to go too much because I'm not adding any cooling stuff yet and I want the system to be very stable, so....
Yeah, I'm just wondering what you guys can do with similar specs.

2 AnswersMusic & Music Players1 decade agoGaming too hard on computer?
For some reason I couldn't find anything about this on Google, which makes me think it might not be an issue, but... Will playing newer games like Modern Warfare 2 on my Macbook Pro 13" be somehow bad for it. I try not to play for too long, but sometimes I get caught up in it and could play for hours. I try to keep it cool with a cooling pad, but I have no control over the internal fans because I'm using bootcamp. I may be overreacting, but I don't want that $1500 to go to waste because I wanted to play a game. So will some good old gaming do any harm, or am I ok.
5 AnswersLaptops & Notebooks1 decade agoHow do I get my Mac to stop doing this?
I use Windows 7 with Bootcamp on my Mac for gaming purposes. Every time I start my Mac it automatically boots to the Windows partition unless I hold the option key. Is there a way to make boot to Mac OS instead?
1 AnswerSoftware1 decade agoCan I play Modern Warfare 2?
I have a 13" MacBook Pro (I know, Macs suck for gaming)and was wondering I will be able to play MW2. I will buy the game even if I can run on the lowest settings. I can run the COD4 demo pretty good, but I never got the full version to play online.
Specs:
-2.5ghz core 2 duo
-nvidia 9400m
-4 gb ddr3 ram
The computer is crazy fast, it just doesn't have enough video ram. What do you guys think?
1 AnswerVideo & Online Games1 decade agoDo you think it well be ok to use a pc?
I'm looking to go to school for graphic design/graphic arts. I really want a Mac, but I know I just might not be able to afford one. The school I'm looking at going to uses Macs. Will it be harder to progress if I get a pc rather than a Mac, or am I better off waiting a year or so and saving up? I just don't want to get a pc and find that it's hard to keep up.
8 AnswersLaptops & Notebooks1 decade agoHow many computers can you install Photoshop Cs4 on?
I'm probably going to get Photoshop Cs4, but I was curious. How many computers can you really install it on using the one disc and one cd code? I've read that you can install it on 2 computers but you cannot use them at the same time. Is this true? Also, why do they make a Mac version and a Windows version, and is there a way to get around this?

3 AnswersOther - Hardware1 decade agoWhat about swine flu?
I've been reading more and more that the swine flu is really just a bad flu. Everything I've seen makes it look like it's no too serious. Am I just dreaming or is there really no threat here. I read that so far only about 2 people have died (in the U.S.) and that probably doesn't look that bad compared to people dying of any other flu. What is all the scare about and should I really be worried? Or should I just be a little bit more careful?

What are your thought about refurbished or used MacBooks? Are they worth it? Are they going to have problems?
If you do think it is worth it or you have done this, could you recommend some goods places to get them?
3 AnswersLaptops & Notebooks1 decade agoNo sound, didn't have this before installing graphics card.?
I just got my new ati radeon graphics card. I have it installed and running good. But I went into itunes and doubled clicked a song, no sound. I tried multiple programs and games and got no sound. So I checked all my wires and settings and everything. I went into control pannel and it says that there is an HD audio device hooked up. All I've got are some external logitech speakers. I could find no option for changing the audio output device, and I even tried reinstalling my drivers. Can someone help me get sound?
