My theory/understanding is that:-
1) The Devil is a super personality in the collective unconscious that is orthogonal to God in the phase space...
2) Just as God can manifest on Earth indirectly as the Holy Spirit or even in physical form by unifying himself with Jesus, so the Devil can inspire evil via his Unholy Spirit in anyone who is willing and prepared to listen and could even appear in physical form by unifying himself with the anti-Christ. To be clear only "God the creator" can perform true miracles and so intervene directly on Earth e.g. Satan could not save the fallen from the deluge.
Having said that and told you that I don't actually fully believe I can answer your question.
As best as I can tell, the anti-Christ has not been born yet, but I believe there are many weak souls who have been moved by his Unholy Spirit... For example Osama Bin Laden and his disciples in thoughtless aggression George W. Bush and Tony Blair... To be clear they aren't all bad of course.
