How (not why or how come) does Satan mislead us?

I don't care about the REASONS--that doesn't prepare me for a Satanic onslaught. HOW does he operate? By what methods? I think that if we know his m.o., we have a better chance of prevailing.

Well the Bible says that "Your enemy the devil prowls around like a roaring lion looking for someone to devour." (1 Peter 5:8) So if you study the traits of a lion, it'll give you some ideas.

    - They like to hunt at night, in the darkness. In the spiritual analogy, Christ is called the light, so without Christ in our lives each day, we're in trouble (see John 8:12)

    - They attack the weak. We can be strong and overcome only through allowing Christ into our lives each day. (see Matthew 19:26; 2 Corinthians 4:16; 2 Corinthians 12:9; Romans 8:26)

    - They work as a group and coordinate a strategy of attack.

    - They close in on the prey, and encircle them as much as possible. (See Psalm 22:12; Psalm 22:16 and note that Psalms 22 is a prophecy about Jesus death).

hmmm by all means sometimes direct or indirect, you cannot avoid him, it will try to mislead you until your last breath even if you are a saint. The most tricky thing it can alter your thoughts and mind and even tries to keep you out of reality like living in a dream.

    Good that you asked this.

Through whatever weaknesses you may have. He temps you with what is hard for each individual to resist. That's why we need knowledge from God,John 17:3, we need to pray for his strength through his Holy Spirit, and put on the complete suit of armor from God. The helmet of salvation, the spirit of the sword, the breast plate of righteousness, the large shield of faith, gird your loins with the truth, and shod your feet with the good news od peace. Ephesians 6:11-17.

"Screwtape Letters" by C.S. Lewis answers this in so many ways.

this of course is all invisible so I don't know the semantics on how this actually happens. Interesting thought, I know a Satanist who has a tatoo on his spine to let the devils in. i think the spinal chord is a big area of demonic control. but i have no idea.

He puts thoughts an images in the brain, visions, tries to be God, or talk us out of God.

the same things he's been using to deceive and destroy forever. the methods have been working forever so why would he need anything new?

    *lust

    *greed

    *jealousy

    *lies

    *idol worship

*using the unsaved (by means of possession) as pawns to carry out his ultimate plan of destruction

satan hates us b/c we are made in God's image, he's already been defeated and knows it's only a matter of time before his time is up and he'll be condemned to hell forever, and is the ultimate evil so he only seeks to steal, kill, and destroy

Ludwig, he only has two tools (lust and pride) but he packages them in a remarkable variety of ways.

You did know that lust is the perfect opposite of love didnt you? Many dont, these days.

Here's a few ways Satan Misleads us

20 For behold, at that day shall he Rage in the hearts of the children of men, and stir them up to anger against that which is good.

21 And others will he pacify, and lull them away into carnal security, that they will say: All is well in Zion; yea, Zion prospereth, all is well—and thus the DEVIL dishearten their souls, and leadeth them away carefully down to hell.

22 And behold, others he flattereth away, and telleth them there is no hell; and he saith unto them: I am no devil, for there is none—and thus he whispereth in their ears, until he grasps them with his awful chains from whence there is no deliverance.

23 Yea, they are grasped with death, and hell; and death, and hell, and the devil, and all that have been seized therewith must stand before the throne of God, and be judged according to their works, from whence they must go into the place prepared for them, even a lake of fire and brimstone, which is endless torment.

24 Therefore, wo be unto him that is at ease in Zion!

25 Wo be unto him that crieth: All is well!

26 Yea, wo be unto him that ahearkeneth unto the precepts of men, and denieth the power of God, and the gift of the Holy Ghost!

27 Yea, wo be unto him that saith: We have received, and we need no more!

28 And in fine, wo unto all those who tremble, and are angry because of the truth of God! For behold, he that is built upon the crock dreceiveth it with gladness; and he that is built upon a sandy foundation trembleth lest he shall fall.

29 Wo be unto him that shall say: We have received the word of God, and we aneed bno more of the word of God, for we have enough!

I think a lot of us need to pay attention to verse 27

Atheist Troll could benefit from Verse 22
