Is there any way to get XBOX 360 updates withought having on xbox live?

YA just got an xbox but cant set up live for another month due to having a short ethernet cable. I really want to play my ipod through my xbox like i do at my friends but i need an up date to play the itunes format mpeg4 or what ever. i wandering if i could like download it to usb and transfer it to xbox 360 or something?

    Almost certain no.

    There are some things that are transferable by memory stick (like account info) but microsoft is extremely picky about what goes in and out of the box.

    Yes, you can update your Xbox 360 offline. You can download the update from the Xbox website (http://support.xbox.com/support/en/us/nxe/xboxlive... and downloaded into either an USB stick or a CD. You then attach the USB stick to the Xbox 360 or insert the CD disc into your Xbox 360 to begin updating your Xbox 360.

    Make sure you follow the instruction carefully on the method you choose. Also, if an additonal update is released in the future you will have downloaded the newer update from the newer site.
