Any tips for cleaning computers?

My desktop sounded like and old machine. I used a compressed air and I cleaned the mess inside. It's has been working good...for now (5 hours).

The problem is that some sticky dust that can't be removed from the rear fans and there's some dust in the central fan that can't be completely removed with the can. How can I remove that without damaging anything?

Update:

Don't forget the static.

You could unplug the power supply, get a damp cloth and try to lightly wipe off the sticky dust.

remove the fans....you should be able to unscrew them with a phillips screw driver.....use rubbing alcohol to get the sticky stuff off the fans...or you can use GOO GONE...it works very well.......

central fan? you mean cpu cooler fan? if so remove the heatsink and fan and Clean the fan and heatsink very well......use rubbing alcohol here...don't want to get GOO GONE on the cpu or heatsink....after you clean that up install thermal paste...less=more here...just a dab.....make sure it is spread evenly on cpu an the heatsink....i use (arctic silver 5)9.00 bux on newegg.com.....

Try using a vaccum with a brush tipped cleaner which is soft, i use this method of cleaning even the inside of the CPU itself. Just don't brush it too hard. You don't even have to remove any parts inside the CPU.
