Are Republican constituents gonna turn on their representatives?

While the Democratic representatives are making compromises and getting financial benefits for their constituents the Republicans are doing nothing but trying to stall a bill that everyone knows is gonna pass. You think once the bill has past and Republican constituents realized they have nothing to show will they revolt and vote the party of NO out in 2010?

Update:

I find it interesting that when people don't know how to answer a question they just say I don't know how our government works.

I expect the republicans to gain a few seats in 2010. The party that is out of power usually gains since the party in power always does things people don't like.

The solution is term limits: one term in congress and one term in prison.

A better question would be, is the democrat constituents gonna turn on their representatives for ignoring the will of 61% to 67% of the people that oppose the bill. How can it be called

"representative government" when the representatives do as they wish, and not the will of their constituents ?

    2010....farewell to democrats.

You, apparently do not understand the purpose of the Legislature and the spending of money by the Federal Government. If any voter of any State thinks he is benefiting when the Federal Government spends money on his State does not understand economics. You see, the Federal Government does not actually have any money. All the money they spend on whatever, they first have to take from the private sector or borrow from foreign countries and then have the private sector pay back with interest.

Republicans, at least Conservative Republicans, understand this extremely well. As far as we are concerned, we would like the Federal Government to stop spending any more money than it absolutely is mandated to spend by the Constitution.

You know why Social Security and Medicare are going broke? Because we, the taxpayers have been paying into the system for many, many years but the Federal Government has not been putting the money into a trust as it is supposed to do. What they have been doing is "borrowing" our that money from our account and then spending it. Now that account is empty and filled with IOU's in the form of Government Treasury Bills. But don't those Bills pay us interest? Sure, but where does the Federal Government get the money to make good on those Treasury Bills and the interest? Right, from the American Taxpayers. So, we pay money in, they take it and spend it and then we have to pay it back with interest into our own account again.

Do you honestly believe anyone who understands economics wants the Federal Government to give "financial benefits" to any State that we are going to have to pay for with interest anyway? Tell you what, how about we let the Federal Government live within budget without borrowing any more money or raising any more taxes? That would be the most beneficial to every State in the Union.

The Republican party has already admitted they have lost ground and continue to loose ground and credibility. We can not though consider them out of the ball game! The GOP decided it would not be in the Republicans best interest to win the 2008 elections. They knew fixing the Bush/Cheney problems is going to be expensive, time consuming and require a lot of unpopular decisions. They also knew they would have a democratic Senate to contend with. It would be better to let the Democrats win the 2008 election then spend the next year + doing everything they can to destroy the democrats credibility. In 2010 they hope to regain seats they have lost in congress and the senate and cause Obama to fail setting the Republican party up for an easy 2012 victory.

No, Republican representatives are "gonna" grow in number because Democrats are trying to cram a disasterous program down the throats of people who want no part of it.

The Republicans have made positive proposals for real healthcare reform, but have been shut out by arrogant, power-hungry Democrats.

I'm not sure the bill is "gonna" pass, but I am sure that in next year's election the voters are GOING TO hold Democrats accountable for this farce.

you have a skewed since of reality, name a single "compromise" the left has done. All I have seen over the past ten months is a completely partisan exclude the right attitude. As an example, why has every republican member been specifically forbidden from attending ANY of the health care bill discussions? (not the vote, but the planning of it).

Since a larger majority do not feel or believe as you do, I suspect you will be unpleasantly surprised in 2010 if you honestly believe what you say.

Currently, the Republican party is showing that it is the lesser of two evils by trying to stop legislation that adds to the federal deficit. Unfortunately, this probably won't be the case once they do have a majority in 2010. That is why I would love for Tea Party protesters to run for office and be active in government so that the federal deficit eventually disappears.

You mean, will the GOP voters be angry that their chosen leaders didn't dip into the golden cup of graft and corruption like the democrats did?

No, that's something that only the left would be angry about - "you didn't steal and cheat enough, look they stole more than you, what's the matter with you....."

The right is more like, "well, I'm sure glad we still have a few shreds of integrity left, contrary to what they keep saying."

Why to liberals say Republicans are corrupt and evil, even while you taunt the Republicans for not taking bribes and payoffs.....

    More puzzling liberal logic.

No, the republican representatives are gaining respect by not being up for sale and refusing to sign onto something that is going to badly hurt the people. I think it far more likely that the democrats are going to turn on their representatives. We'll see in 2010 and 2012, won't we?

Mike - I really don't think that you understand what's really going on in Washington, otherwise you would not be asking your question. I strongly suggest that between now and the elections of 2010 you spend sometime doing some research and find out what really going on. Because like many in our country you don't seem to understand that our country is being led down the proverbial primrose path!
