Can a parent put himself into the child support system?
This is in relation to my other question here:
http://answers.yahoo.com/question/index;_ylt=An7WU...
Can a parent ask the courts to establish his child support payments through the courts so that he will not have to come in contact with the child's mother? For now, he just gives her money when she needs it, but not through the courts.

You should ALWAYS go through the courts. And yes, you can contact them to set up child support. You want it to be on record if you're paying so the mother can't come back and whine, "He doesn't pay!" Also, never pay in cash since it's unable to be tracked. Always pay through an automatic withdrawal or through a monthly check which can be used as a record.

We tried that in georgia so we wouldn't have to speak to her and they told us at child support recovery that the person who owes the money can not set up a claim, only the person the money is owed to can set up a claim. so, they turned us down even though we had a court order.
They recommended either depositing money into a bank account in her name that is only used for child support money, which she will have to open. OR sending a check in the mail. We opted for check in the mail and the mom did put up a fight at first but then she called child support recovery and they said if he is suppose to pay you on the 15th and you don't get it until the 18th then that does not concern us. If he is more than 30 days late let us know and we will send a letter to him.
So, if you don't want to talk to her, don't just send it through the mail in the form of a check!

Keep a record of what you give you can petition the family court it is a simple thing as far as court matters go. There is a statute in your state that will tell you how much you have to pay.

Absolutely, you can. This is the best way since it already sounds as the relationship isn't a good one. You do NOT want to have her go to court saying you haven't paid you will be in arrears and it will make your head spin.

Yeah of course, keep a record of everything you give her in the mean time.

He really, really, needs an attorney, for practical purposes.
And for moral ones. If Mom is making it difficult for him to be a Dad he needs to step up, not try to wash his hands of his kid.
