Ammo Question - Can I put this through my Bersa?

Hello, I am kind of new to shooting! I have a quick question.

My dad just bought Independence brand ammo for my Bersa Thunder 380 Concealed carry. It is 380 Auto 90 grain ammo. It also says "FMJ". I know that I need ACP ammo, and I cannot figure out if this is ACP or not and if it's safe to put through my Bersa.

Thanks!

Yes that ammunition is perfectly safe for your pistol. The designation .380 ACP is for .380(note the 0) Automatic Colt Pistol. It is also called .380 Auto by some manufacturers.

Oh dang, I forgot the Euro/metric naming: 9x17mm and 9mm Corto or Kurz are also names for the .380 ACP.

FMJ, JHP and the like are just the type of bullet loaded in the cartridge.

If by chance you even could find .38 ACP/.38 Auto ammunition for sale you don't want it for your Bersa it is NOT the same cartridge. It is longer and loaded to higher pressures.

ACP mean 'automatic colt pistol' which defines the cailber. FMJ means full metal jacket (the type of bullet). FMJ is usually 95 grain; 90 grain is usually defensive. So long as it is .380 Auto, .380 acp or 9x17mm it should work in your .380 auto.

Yes, the FMJ refers to the TYPE of projectile. 380 Auto is the ame as 380 AUTOmatic Colt Pistol.

Congratulations to YOU for doing a little checking and asking an intelligent question. You're not an Airsofter, are you?
