Hunters who dislike airsoft: What is your opinion of paintball?

I ask this without disrespect, and only out of curiosity.

Update:

Glacierwolf: I'm aware of the correct section, but posting it there would result in very low traffic from Hunting section regulars, whom are the members I wish to receive responses from.

Update 2:

guns guns and hunting: So are you in the Army? Or a woman?

Update 3:

Canuck Joe, chris w: Exactly the type responses I was hoping to get, thank you.

no interest in it at all. i believe paintball and air soft are both toys. therefore they belong in the outdoor rec area or the toy department but not the hunting section

but i mean if kids playing paintball or airsoft (not sure if thats the correct way of putting it maybe if i say paintballin or airsoftin instead... u get my drift) and getting out of the house and out of there imaginary COD twilight fantisy world and actually getting in touch with nature and getting some healthy escersise then i think its a good thing. but if they start believing that they are some super swat guy because they have a paint ball gun or start being a hot shot and trying to hurt other kids then that aint right and that kid needs a good beatin.

and i agree fully with canuck when the kids are giving advice to someone who knows nothing about firearms and telling them to do some stupid crazy stuff with REAL firearms because they feel that they know everything because they own 10 airsoft toy machine guns or whatever then that is not only stupid and foolish but moronic as well.

i actually had some stupid kid a few months ago tell me to clean my gun with a mixture of clorox wirebrush and then put some olive oil on the gun after i washed the clorox off under the sink. now im talking about a $1000+ shotgun. i wouldent do that to a $50 gun let alone a grand+ gun. crazy stupid kids anymore

I don't have any thing against either sport. what I think,it is the result of the restrictive nature and the over all way the urbanized public views fire arms. Some in air soft ask questions as if they were dealing with a real firearm. I see the angry answers,"go to kiddie city".Just ignore. Why take offense from something that is the result of restrictive legislation. Canuck Joe showed me this question. It is enlightening to hear you reasons and from now on will have a different way of evaluation. I may try to answer if I know what to say.

Its fun. I found the guys who never hunted game before ran out of ammo too early and were easy to stalk. First time I did it I borrowed equipment, wore a full camo setup and won three straight tournaments. Since then I have done it off and on. My helmet got fogged over to the point of frustration. Not too many people I know do it anymore. We all have grown up and moved on. Its a fun game and I recommend it as a way to get out and move around and play.

It is a useful activity for training urban warfare tactics on private property and that is about all. It has no value in the shooting or hunting sports. When I encounter them in the wild-lands I always report their presence to the local authorities as both are unapproved activities on city, county, state and national lands. Along with air-soft they should have there own QnA section away from all others.

Something that belongs in Other- Outdoor Rec. and it's something that I have no interest in.

    guns guns and hunting--

airsoft/paintball is gay.. then what's up with this?

    http://profiles.yahoo.com/u/Y77WWQZ4XXA6INVLWUK526...

    airgun? humm....

Airsoft/paintball is not 'gay'. It's someone's choice. But they need to notice where they post questions regarding that here.

They can do their thing, and I'll do mine.

I agree completely with Canuck_Joe but will take it one step farther. Some of the "advice" some of these self-anointed "experts" give can be dangerous if not lethal if followed.

Not everyone can tell when these kids are practicing rectal ventriloquism. I'd hate to see someone killed because they like to stroke their own ego.

I don't dislike airsoft or paintball. What I dislike (and I think most would agree) is the fact that these kids think they know everything about everything that's firearm related because they own airsoft/paintball rifles and pistols, and trying to pass themselves off as "experts".

I appreciate your politeness, and the fact that you're not trying to run us down.

    Paintball is a great game.

It belongs in outdoor activities - paint ball is cool - just not something for the Hunting section.

There is nothing wrong with paintball, but kids shouldn't think of them as a gun.

Paintball is more like playing tag with a -very- long arm.
