What's a good way to start talking to new people?

I'm 19, I go to college, I have a part time job, and I have a ton of great friends! But like most relationships, my buds and I haven't really been what we used to. I've headed a different way once I left high school and yeah. Anyways I've always been pretty shy myself, and I normally made friends by hanging out with my friends and getting to know theirs. I don't think I'm weird or anything, I love how I dress and the music I listen too. I just need some good ice breakers to meet new people!

Just be yourself, always start with a Hi my name is.... ask if they like the class or what is their major (while in college of course) if you guys are taking the same class you guys have more than one thing in common and that's how it all starts, also stay after class even if its 5 min, sometimes after class they decide to do study groups or they just talk. You are young I do not think you will have any problems getting friends

    Do not forget to SMILE!

this is just something you need to learn. it's like learning to ride a bike, you know? there will be some mistakes, and you'll fall of (hypothetically :b ) but when you learn a good way of doing it, it'll never leave you..

Well i'm a girl about your age, and my way of getting to know new people is by being a bit charming. (No surprise I only have guy friends at the moment, I suppose..)

I don't know how natural charming you are, but try to just come across like a very mellow guy with a calm temper. getting angy's never a good way of making friends.. And you seem very charming so don't worry..!)

Also, try not to disagree with what the new person says. Not the first time anyway. This I think, (mostly when it comes to me, I guess,) I it hate when a guy just takes over that conversation and don't listen to me. it's gotta be like 50/50.

One more thing. Don't feel bad about being a bit shy. (Again) when it's up to me I want the guy to be a bit shy, so don't worry about it..!

    and the last thing, Smile!!!

    hope it helped..!

    good luck!
