Why doesn't WinXP recognize Wireless device (internet card) on Acer laptop.?
I just installed xp on acer aspire 5735. I couldn't get wireless adapter working. The machine came loaded with Vista. Tried to download drivers from Acer, also from getpcmemory.com. When I look in devices, it is just a question mark, so I know that it is not working. It appears I do not have the correct driver, (recomended online) but they don't work. Help? Please tell me how you know?

If your wireless device has a question mark in the device manager, it should be a simple matter of the right driver. If you can not find the right driver on the Acer site, you might need one from the wireless device manufacturer (Intel, broadcom, or something like that).
In the device manager you can find the manufacturer of the device by looking at the properties (in Details).
If you can not find it, you can also try a driver update program, like DriverFinder.

Possabily because
The Internet card is invalid or old and useless.
Windows XP suck. Upgrade to Windows 7. If your Acer is compatable with it.
