How do I actually execute a soccer power shot at goals instead of power curve shots i normally take?
Im new to soccer and cuz i was unemployed in uni break played 6-7 hours a day, found I was a real natural, got good at dribbling, tactics, long pass short pass and curve ball shots cuz I liked them from watching roberto carlos, beckham on youtube and wanted to do their shots
I seem to be able to do fast curve balls that normally hit the target i want from 30 yards or more out cuz i practice them for many hours to prepare for long shot chances in games
But I cant seem to get gerrard style power shots ive tryed traditional technique for power shots but dont seem to be able to ever get as much power as my curve balls whats happening ive defintely learnt the right techniques off the internet and many different tutorials, sites and youtube
Is it cuz i practice curve balls way more or am i doing something wrong.

Long story short, for curved shots, you strike the ball with your foot at an angle and slightly off center to the side. For a straight shot, your foot should come straight at the ball and you should strike the ball dead center.
There is an excellent DVD called Blast the Ball that explains this (but it does cost money). Here is the link: http://www.blasttheball.com/?page=b6484120&pageb=9...
