im new to ubuntu (linux) and i cant even seem to get out of the door, i cant install java, or flash player?
hi im new to the world of linux, and i cant really get very much help, becuse all the videos all require java, or flash, but when i try to download them, there is like 5 different extentions and i keep getting a "could not open" to any of these files, can anyone help??? or tell me what im doing wrong??
ok, so after a bit of looking, i found what i needed: go to terminal and type: $ sudo apt-get install flashplugin-nonfree

To play multimedia you will need to install some restricted drivers. See the first link.
If you want to get full use of ubuntu you should read some of its instructions because it doesn't work the same as windows.
The second link explains how to install software. The third and fourth links give more info about how to use ubuntu.
