Do you think we should have IRS overhaul?
Do you think its fair for tax payers that don't have kids pay taxes for the ones that doe's. I don't think its fair when tax payers with kids pay little to nothing in and get 6,000 or more back. Time for a income tax overhaul to stop the free money.

Sadly there are many times when a person who has kids benefits over someone who doesn't. Sure kids are the future but too many kids will make the future miserable...it's called "overpopulation".
Unmarried childless people are the most heavily taxed even though they have a smaller negative impact on the world then anyone....amazing isn't it?

"The ones that doe's"? Well, at least I'll give you props for using the check spelling feature.
Overall, yes the tax law that's over 5000 pages of legalese does need an overhaul. The only fair tax would be a flat tax that could not be manipulated with deductions and credits. That would also make the tax code a much simpler read.

When you think about it, people with children have to spend money on the kids. (a lot of money when they are teenagers!). The tax law acknowledges this, and allows for an exemption.
Value added or a National Sales tax is regressive and hurts the poor and lower middle class.
A flat tax seems fine for individuals who don't have their own businesses. But what about Schedule C businesses, partnerships, and corporations. They still need to deduct expenses. Also, would you like to be taxed on the full amount of a sale of a capital asset, or allowed to deduct the cost?
Once, you allow the above, then you need the rules, and the people to enforce it.

Let's eliminate the IRS. Let's have some kind of national sales tax. No personal income tax.

It should be eliminated.
Too complex. Creates too many crooks. Give politicians too much power.
Do a flat tax, or national sales tax or something that doesn't have a humongous, over-paid, lazy ( I worked there, I know) bureacracy.

When will the IRS truly go after tax cheats in the Obama administration? There's at least 250K that could be collected.

I agree and I have two kids. I thinkwe should disband the IRS and go with an End User sales tax.

There are a whole lot of problems with the IRS, starting with it's leadership on down. Yes, I say abolish it in lieu of the fair tax.
- MichaelLv 51 decade ago
I think the IRS should be abolished, and payroll taxes replaced with the value added tax.

Ya i think we should just haul the entire IRS to the curb and kick em out the door .
