Are you "hiding" your gender?

I work w/ the public.I am wondering why the growing trend of lesbian women is to wear men's clothes, sport men's hair cuts, etc.I literally can't tell the difference at times. If they weren't named Ann,Dawn, etc.I'd never know.I don't care-I'm just really curious about this as a married woman.

They're not hiding their gender, they are just dressing in a way that feels comfortable.

A lesbian's identify as females because that is what their gender identity tells them they are, some may take on a masculine expression because that is their gender expression.

Gender Identity and gender expression are two different things and sexual orientation is another thing entirely.

    Not at all.

Well, okay, on this site I guess, because I don't care whether people know or not.

But as a gay male nobody has ever confused me with a woman.

It's a free country and people have a right to dress however way they want to.

To answer your question –– no, my gender isn't hidden; I lost it not long ago but it turned up shortly after.

I wear mens clothes but I have long hair. Its more comfortable.

  • Well, in YOUR eyes, you might consider me 'hiding', but in mine? No.

I'm FtM. In case you don't know what that means, it means I am a Female To Male transsexual. So my gender IS male, and I don't hide it. I think I display it pretty well.

See that pic in my avatar? That's me. Now tell me I don't look and "pass" as male!

P.S. I have nothing to "hide".

Maybe that's their way of being more masculine without a sex change.

Everyone has their own reasons for doing something, I don't question it. You shouldn't either! Let it be!

I find butch women very attractive, let them be. They are just expressing themselves and being comfortable.
