Feeling unsettled & disturbed?

Why would God answer a selfish, wicked prayer? A relative of mine has for the past few years admitted to me that she has always encouraged her teenage daughter to have sex so that she could become a grandmother. She loves children and feels lost now that all of her own have grown. I have been praying for the past few years that God would lead her to understand this requests was not only selfish, but against the lifestyle God expects us to live. I receive a call this morning from her that she is rejoicing because God has answered her prayers. Her 18 yr. old unwed daughter is pregnant. I have to admit I felt somewhat resentful, not only because she obviously still doesn't see the wrong in this. But a part of me feels rejected by God because my husband & I have been trying to conceive for the past 8 years with no luck. We have prayed for a child in our lives. We both have no children from previous marriages and relationships. We have always been faithful to God and choose to live by his word. I decided to wait until marriage to have children, which I know was the right choice. Yet, in some small way, I feel punished. And my teenage relative is rewarded for her promiscuous lifestyle. Her mother, rewarded for unGodly requests. Why is this? What possible message could God be sending me?

    Not All Requests Are Granted

In his unselfish ministry, Paul suffered from what he described as “a thorn in the flesh.” (2 Corinthians 12:7) This could have been the mental and emotional distress caused by opposers and “false brothers.” (2 Corinthians 11:26; Galatians 2:4) Or it could have been the physical discomfort of a chronic eye affliction. (Galatians 4:15) Whatever the case, this “thorn in the flesh” had a weakening effect on Paul. “I three times entreated the Lord that it might depart from me,” he wrote. However, Paul’s request was not granted. It was explained to Paul that the spiritual benefits he had already received from God, such as power to endure trials, were sufficient. Furthermore, God said: “My power is being made perfect in weakness.”—2 Corinthians 12:8, 9.

    .

What do we learn from the examples of Eliezer and Paul? Jehovah God indeed listens to the prayers of those who humbly seek to serve him. But this does not mean that he always grants their requests because God has a long-range view of matters. He knows better than we do what is n our best interests. More important, he always acts in harmony with his stated purpose as recorded in the Bible.

iRegarding your relatives: the saying, "beware your desires because you might get them" seems to apply. Who knows what kinds of problems will now be unleashed

God had nothing to do with either of your situations. If you want children, then go to God's word and find every scripture and promise in the word of God concerning having children and every day stand and confess those promises.Proverbs and psalms are loaded with promises. And never think God is against you. He is for you, not against you. Jesus said , With what measure of the word you put in , that is the measure you get out. Joshua 1:8 says that we are to meditate on His word day and night so we will have good success. If you shortchange yourself concerning that scripture and be double minded, James says you will not recieve anything from the Lord.

In order to have children, you need to stop praying and have sex. Unless you normally pray naked on top of each other.

Or maybe you are praying to the wrong god?
