We are all imperfect and get jealous at times. At what stage does jealousy become a great sin?
According to the Bible, jealousy becomes a great sin when it reaches the point where a jealous individual is willing to bring harm to his or her fellowman's character or person. In fact, when a person allows jealousy to reach this danger stage, they are actually under the influence and sometimes, possession of the demons. (James 3:14,15) (proverbs 14:30) How do you feel about jealousy and the harm it can generate when it is unleashed?

Jealousy is a feeling. I don't believe that feelings can be sins. Actions and intentions are (can be) sinful. When you describe "willingness to bring harm to others" that is what I see as intent and intent to harm someone is as sinful as doing it if that is actually what you want to do and are prevented from doing it by circumstances ( I don't know if it's a sin to form intent and then change your mind, I would tend to say no because changing your mind is basically an act of contrition so maybe it's a sin with absolution contained within it. It's a close call).
I'm not big on demons. I believe we are responsible to God and ourselves for our actions and actions are decisions. The matter of deciding can be clouded by sanity issues,I don't know how God addresses those issues (I'm glad I don't have to make those judgements) Are demons and sanity issues the same thing?
