2005 Mercedes e320 Power Trunk not working anymore?

2005 Mercedes e320 Power Trunk not working anymore?

My power trunk release and power trunk close has stopped working on my 2005 E320. I can remotely unlock the trunk and it will open about 4 inches, but no longer goes all the way up. When I manually force the trunk to the full open position, the trunk light remains off and the emergency release is illuminated green. (It thinks the trunk is still closed.) The power close button will not illuminate or work, unless the trunk is closed to within 4 inches of shutting. Then it works, but only to lock the trunk and I have to pull my hand out very quickly so it doesn't get slammed in. It seems as though a position sensor or such is screwed up. ANY "do it yourself" help will be greatly appreciated. Thanks in advance!
