To get there you are going to be taking 283 for most of the way. The best way for directions is mapquest just to get there. This way may be less scenic, however once you get there it is very scenic. Some interesting places to see while your there are the train museum, the farms, and Dutch Wonderland if you have little ones with you. When it comes to visiting a farm, most of the amish are very nice people and if you ask nicely the kids will sometimes give you a tour of the farm. This type of tour is the best because it is so personal. Just remember to give the kid some money for his trouble. Some good places to eat are Millers, Hersheys, or Shady Maple Smorgasborg's.

Aside from you getting a map a driving around, it will be hard. Most of the roads are through farm lands. The best thing to do is go to the Visitor's Center on Rt 30 and take a bus tour.

They will take you all around and show you more than any map or book could. There are other tours that operate, but the one from the Visitors Center is the best.

By all means drive around, you will find many "treasures" by accident.

One tip: go north on Belmont Rd off of Rt 30, there is a beautiful covered bridge on it!
