Well, it has fiberous "teeth" instead of gills, its name means "ladder teeth, and it causes scurvey in woodpeckers.
Young man, the amount of time it has taken you to write that question plus the amount of time it would take you to read someone else's three points is as much as more as you might spend giving the article a quick skim. The hard work--finding an accessible article with lots of info--has already been done; all you have to do is cast your eye down the page and grab three points of interest.
Skimming is a useful skill that will save you a lot of work. Just let your eye run down the centre of the page, picking up on a few key words or ideas as you go. Then do more in-depth reading if need be.
Just to be a pain, one of my three points is made up. Go and skim the website to see which one it is.
