You asked a question we often get asked and yes they look fine. Alot of headboards sold today are sold as what is called a queen/full combo in order to utilize both size mattresses. Here is a a helpful blog that explains the methods in detail.

It will look fine. You will just have to drill holes in the headboard to secure the double frame.
I have a full size headboard for a queen size bed and it looks just fine. I had to add a board to secure the queen frame.

I would say yes, 3 inches is no big deal and if you love the headboard its worth it. If you feel it is too notiicable I would just add a nightstand on each side and nobody will even notice :) Good Luck!

queen size is 5 feet wide and full is 4 ft 6 inch so you will have 3 inches extra each side. not a big deal. u can use a night stand to cover it or just leave it like that
