how much lift do i need minimum with bigger tires?
I have a 2001 f-150 supercrew 4X4. What is the mimimum amount of lift i would need with 33's to have no rubbing at all? what about 35's?

I would suggest more than 3"...my chevy has 33's with a 3" lift and I get slight rubbing of tires when cutting the wheel to park or on tight turns. Regular driving is fine though. I am going to raise it a little more (maybe another 2") again anyway. Good Point on those Fatty Mudders....I do have those too !!

You won't need any lift to run a 285/70R17 (33x11.00) on stock 7" wide wheels, 2-3 inches to run 305/70R16-17 (33x12.50) on an 8-10" wide aftermarket wheel, and 5-6" to run a 35x12.50 or 315/70R17 on 8-10" aftermarket wheels. You can get away with a little less lift on any tire size using the stock wheel but they will rub the frame rail when turning, rubbing the frame will only present an issue if running a tire with large shoulder lugs like a TSL, Mud Grappler, or PitBull, you will barely notice it with an A/T or street oriented M/T like the BFG or ProComp.Stay away from wheels wider than 12 inches, they will eat the balljoints and wheel bearings up pretty quickly, and run the tire into the fender, also tires over 12.50 wide will require more lift to clear.

The best way is to put them on and check for clearance. Then jack the vehicle to see how high you really need for clearance.
One thing is be sure that you put Rubber Bottoming Pads in so that the Pick-up will hit the pads on a bad bump before the fenders get into the tire.
Sometimes you can get by with the outside fender edges, but you may need to modify the inside Mud splash guard, or inner fender so that it clears when you turn.

what are the other dimentions? you only gave us one thing here. we can give you lift heights, but if you are putting fatty mudders on the rims, you will rub. more information is needed, thanks.
