Running with the wrong shoes can cause all sorts of problems with your feet, ankles, legs, knees, and hips. Running with worn out shoes can cause as many problems as running with shoes that aren't the right fit. Try to find a good running store that will videotape you running in the shoes on a treadmill to make sure that they fit well and support your foot the right way.

At various times I've had a stress fracture in my foot, nerve damage in my foot, shin splints, plantar fasciitis, and other assorted injuries. In every case they were caused by running too much with shoes that were worn out or when I got a new pair of shoes that didn't support my foot properly.

I'm not trying to scare you! You're only running 2km a day, which is not a ton of strain on your body. But shoes are sooo important, you should really save up the money to buy a good pair. Trust me, it's better to have the right shoes than deal with an injury you could've prevented.

This can be very damaging and could cause shin splints which HURT. If you look online, there are usually a lot of good deals on running shoes(i found a pair for fifteen dollars one time!). But keep up the running, glad you started!

Bad shoes can cause lots of problems. Besides injuring your feet, it will also affect your ankles, legs, knees, hips, and back.

Everything is connected to your feet.

Try not to run on pavement, try to use grass, so it will be easier on your body.
