Has there been any negative effects reported on the use of Osteo Bi-Flex (Advanced Triple Strength)?

...just read through an article on vitamins and supplements--mostly bad news, as I suspected; but the article is too general and does not offer a comprehensive list of supplements that were found at fault... Mom has been taking Osteo Bi-Flex for several years and I am wondering if there has been a study that demonstrates negative results on the use of this particular supplement.

Not really, no. As long as you're not allergic to Shellfish, Sulfur, or bovine cartilage, you should have no problems at all. In fact, the main nutrients (Glucosamine and Chondroitin) are two of the main nutrients the human body uses to create new cartilage, MSM is a Sulfur-based nutrient that helps support the health of the connective tissues (including the skin, joints, ligaments, etc) and Collagen has similar benefits, Hyaluronic Acid is good for lubrication of the joints, and Boswellia helps for general joint comfort. It's a more expensive complex than some others on the market, but it's a good listing of some of the most beneficial nutrients for joint health.

Also, I would read those articles about how bad supplements are with a grain of salt... some of the stories tend to focus on one part of an article or study and may not report all of it. I read the post (and the article it referenced) and saw some good answers and some of the major pitfalls that some of the articles fall into. Dbobo, T, and even Know the Cause made some really good points that I agree with.

    I hope I helped!

There haven't been any studies that have clearly established any benefit to taking it either.
