My kindergartner is confused between 13 & 30, 14 & 40, etc?
My daughter says thirteen for 30 and thirty for 13 - they sound so similar ( I really feel like beating up the guy who worded these :-) She gets it right many times but she is also confused many times.. same goes for 14 & 40, 15 & 50 and so on..
I know practice makes perfect but other than making her practice are there any tricks you might have used to identify the numbers correctly ? Getting the numbers correctly would even build her (or any other kid's) confidence. Suggestions please
Thanks
The confusion mainly arises due to the fact that these numbers sound so similar almost like homonyms - thought I would clarify this.

I remember being taught like this:
14 - 4+teen
Teens are younger than adults, so 14<40
Something like that lol

Rhyming and singing always helped me remember from a child to an adult....
from my ABC's to my public speaking as an adult....
if you have a hard time finding things to rhyme, that's when I make a song for it...
I do this with my kids too... I have a kindergartner who knows 1-100 A-Z, Ph #, Address, shapes, colors etc... All through rhyming and singins, also writing... make it fun... :D

It's perfectly normal and she'll grow out of it. I used to pronounce them wrong too.
