Why is the Pro Bowl 1 week before the Super Bowl this year?

They did it to boost popularity. The pro-bowl has the lowest ratings of any televised NFL events. I do believe more people will watch it this year because of this move, however I do not agree with it. Like another answerer mentioned, the guys playing in the Super Bowl can't participate. And I don't like the fact that it is in Miami either. Although they did that move to boost ticket sales. Usually, when a player is voted to the pro-bowl, we say "he's going to Hawaii". WTF! "He's going to Miami!" Just doesn't work for me.

I think it has been changed so there is more interest. When it is after the Superbowl it is possible that everyone is still talking about the Superbowl to care about the Pro Bowl.

Oddly though having it a week before means that the players in the Superbowl cannot also play in the Pro Bowl.

I am surprised that none of my Bengals are in the Pro bowl. We won the hardest division but thats just the way it is.

They have been talking about it. What I gathered is that there will be more celebs at the game, being in the States, and a week before hand. Probably because they will stay and go to the Super Bowl too.

I think it is the dumbest idea because now, whichever 2 teams is in the superbowl, can't be in the probowl if you were selected. That is an honor for these players.

They think more people will watch it being one week before the big game. Also, Miami will sell more tickets.

It's plain stupid. Even James Harrison thinks so and he plays in the NFL.

James Harrison: "You need to get them people to change the Pro Bowl back to after the Super Bowl. Having it first is the craziest, stupidest thing I've ever heard."

because of the character of soccer it somewhat is stressful to locate the thank you to make it paintings. the pro bowl sucks previously the superbowl and it sucks after the superbowl besides. they may be greater advantageous doing away the activity and making all of it skills competitions.
