1999 pontiac grand ams flooding cylinder number 2, 2.4 engine.?

The car is flooding only on number 2 cylinder. It is pouring gas out the tail pipe it is flooding so bad. It is getting spark to all the plugs. I have changed the injector. fuel pressure regulator, iac, i took the intake off and inspected it no cracks so i replaced the intake gaskets and re installed the intake. the coolant temp sensor seems to be in range. Please help if you know what it might be.

check powers and grounds to the suspected injector. You should always have power to it ( with the key on) and the PCM should flash ground to it when its needed. If you have a steady ground then you either have a bad pcm or a short to ground on the wiring.

ps. It will be two wires, one power one ground. The power wire will be the same color on all the injectors the ground wires will all be a different color

  • just maybe the computer is leaving that injector open. see if you cannot find some one with a noid light and use that to see the patterns on at least 2 cylinders, no 2 included. you should see a pulse. i dont know if you will see a pulse on that one though if you cannot find a noid set, then pull the connector on that injector and see if the problem persists. i know that a check engine light will come on and a miss will be there but there are times that we have to do things a little out of the normal to find a good answer. if the check engine light is on, then you might want to pull the codes and see what the computer wants to tell you before you do anything else.
