Navy and Air Force are excellent branches to learn technology. However, if you are thinking of enlisting in either one, I would also think about how long you are willing to be gone from home. If you are single, then join the Navy. You would progress in rank quicker in the Navy, plus you get to see a lot of the world. If you are married, join the Air Force. You won't progress in rank as fast. However, normally you aren't sent TDY (away) as much as the Navy. Both have excellent training for what ever career you end up in, and both have the same benefits as far as medical, vacation etc.

Hello Richard,
Neither. Both have different technologies.
The Navy technology is all geared towards ships and submarines and Naval aircraft.
Air Force technology is all geared towards Air Force planes and their support fields.
The key question for you is: Which of these two services am I better qualified to serve in and contribute to the mission of the Navy or the Air Force.
Best wishes,
Larry Smith

I would have to say Air Force, considering the SR-71, as well as many other stealth planes. With all due respect to the Navy, the only way they can really advance technologically is through better missile systems. They are sort of at their precipice of advancement.

Both have technological wonders that you wouldn't believe. So far as technology, its a "pick 'em". Don't underestimate the Army, either. The technological advances they have enjoyed in the last 10 years are phenomenal.
