would you answer a question on a matter you know nothing about?

In my opinion, I just think there are a lot of people out there who enjoy writing offensive and hurtful posts, just to get a reaction out of others.

I too, have read some of the advice on offer in YA and, I agree, it is mostly opinions, rather than sound advice. However, I am sure that the question askers will see through bad advice and, or know the answer beforehand and are looking for some form of reinforcement to the question they ask. The fact that users can vote on good and bad answers is also a good indicator to the question asker as to what is good advice.

Troll numbers seem to be growing all over the world wide web, with YA not missed. I don't see the fun in deliberately publishing comments that are purely designed to emote anger from those who read them, but it seems that there is a good percentage of those who would disagree.

I am new to YA, but I see that the reporting system here is powerful and quick. Judging by the amount of offensive posts that get written though, I guess it does not get used much. I make it a point to report anything that has been written in spite.

I agree. People answer so callously, and some are criminal even, telling a person to kill themselves, when they are suicidal. People don't understand the ramifications of their answers. People should bare the legal responsibilities of how they answer questions. I do my best to relate to a question before answering.

Judging by some of the drivel written on here, many do.

Lots are also very offensive.
