Altering my wedding dress is it possible?

I'm looking at buying a stunning wedding dress, but it is a zip up at the back. I wanted a lace up tie back.

It's still a bodiced style wedding dress with sleeves, and im looking to loose a stone in weight before my wedding... is altering it to become a lace up possible??

My seamstress does this for girls all the time! It is completely possible to have her alter it, but you actually will want to order the dress in a size smaller than you are wearing or the seamstress will have to cut into the actual dress to make room for the tie up to be visible.

Why don't you ask for a fake lace-up over the top of the zip ? Or a set of ribbons on each side of the zip which will tie into bows all the way down the back ?That could look awfully pretty

you'd have to ask your seamstress. chances are any dress you order will need alterations to make it perfect, like the hem or bustline. it will probably cost you $$$ to change it to a corset back but you can at least ask whoever is doing the alterations.

When altering most anything is possible if you go to the right person who does wonders in what they do. Just be careful who you alllow to attempt it and i wish you the best of luck.
