preparing bland diet for my dog?

My dog has had diarrhea for a the past 2 days.. so I was told to give him a bland diet of rice and boiled chicken.. all I have is frozen chicken. Would it be ok if I boiled the chicken while its still frozen?? Or will that create extra bacteria or something in the chicken that could make my dog more sick??

Update:

I don't knowI read somewhere that it is best to let chicken thaw in your refrigerator. That if it thaws to fast it makes the chicken bad.. I know I sound stupid.. but i'm just really worried about my dog.

    Boiling the chicken is fine.

Another option is the cheap sandwich chicken roll from supermarkets.

I do that all the time.

I put the rice in the pot for 20 minutes to boil, add frozen chicken breasts, and boil for another 25 minutes (I use regular rice, not instant, that takes 45 minutes to cook).

I then take the chicken out of the pot, run it through the food processor, add the rice to some of it, let it cool, and feed it to my dog.

I also make about 3 days' worth at a time and I just warm up the food in the microwave for about 30-45 seconds. For some reason my dog LOVES it a little warm.

Why would boiling chicken from frozen create more bacteria?

For sure you can do that. I cook chicken from frozen for myself all the time.

I boil chicken while its frozen all the time, once it starts boiling..reduce heat to a simmer and leave it for 20 minutes

Adding some salt helps kill off bacteria too

I'll be doing the same thing you are doing today myself, for one of my 3!! LOL

Boiling it would kill any bacteria.
