How long must you have your learner's license in QLD Australia before you can go for your P's?

Hi guys,

I'm 16, going on 17 in march and have done my 100 hours in my logbook. I got my learner's license in April of 2009. My question- do I have to wait until a full year is up to go for my P's or can I get them with 100 hours and being 17 years of age?

Any answers will be greatly appreciated! :)

Thank-you!

You need to have had your learners licence for the full 12 months.

So you will need to wait until April 2010 to do your driving test.

This is from the Queensland Transport website -

When can I take the practical driving test?

Before you are eligible to take a practical driving test you must have held your learner licence for at least one year and have completed and recorded 100 hours of supervised on-road driving experience (for drivers under 25years) in your learner logbook. This must include 10 hours of night driving. Your logbook must be assessed and passed by the department before you take your practical driving test.

As soon as you do the 100 hours you're okay to go for your P's. I'm pretty sure the whole year thing is to tell you to do it within a year. I did mine after about 8 months I think, and went for my P's the week after so you should book in for your test as soon as you can. Remember to stick to the speed limit. I failed my first attempt because I went 20km's over the speed limit the the guy who was testing me sitting passenger, he was furious haha
