can vit.e make your blood thinner ?
i want to get a lower face lift including my neck. can vit e cause me to bleed alot? sometimes when i get bloodwork done, i bleed--i guess has something to do with clotting thanks, betty boop

Vitamin E can affect the way your platelets function if taken in excess. Platelets are blood cells that stick together in order to stop bleeding, when they don't function bleeding may be more excessive, or take longer to clot.
If you are seeing your surgeon in consultation prior to a procedure, he or she will make recommendations as to medications you may stop before surgery. It is important to mention both prescription and over the counter medicines, vitamins, supplements or herbal pills.
Vitamin E is helpful in appropriate doses, but like all fat-soluble vitamins (A, D, E and K) can be toxic in excess.
