Does the matchup determine whether you'll watch the Super Bowl?
I've seen a lot of questions talking about Super Bowl matchups people would like to see, or wouldn't be interested in. If you're a football fan, though, does it really matter who makes it there? If your allegiance is only with one team and you'll actually skip the Super Bowl because that team doesn't make it, are you really a football fan?
Just seems weird to me that anyone would miss the game because they don't like the matchup.

The Superbowl is an annual holiday for me. I watch it no matter who is playing. It's also a time for me to spend hanging out at my friend's traditional Superbowl party. they've been holding the party for 20 years and running, wouldn't miss it for anything.

The matchup determines whether I sit and watch the game or whether it turns in to 4 hours of socializing. If it were to end up say the Jets vs. Cowboys, what a snooze fest. Whereas if it were to be Chargers vs. Cardinals there would be plays being made all over the field and something like that could hold my attention. Back in the day when you would have games like San Francisco vs. San Diego or Denver vs. Atlanta, one team was so much better than the other that the game really was not worth watching. So I don't think the teams playing decide whether or not it is on my tv, but rather if the game holds my attention. The only Super Bowl in my life I did not watch was the Ravens vs. Giants, for obvious reasons.

I watch every playoff game no matter who's playing for a number of reasons. First, I'm in a playoff pool where I bet funny money on each game. Second, I host and AFC/NFC Championship party and go to a Super Bowl party each year, where there's a lot of pool betting on quarterly outcomes and final scores. Third, I'm in a salary cap fantasy football league where we pick players that are still in the playoffs and we can trade them up to the Super Bowl. Finally, I love football and it's the last chance I'll have to watch NFL games until the next season.

my team hasn't been to the Super Bowl in a very long time. But, i haven't missed a Super Bowl game...ever. It's really retarded that you would miss the SUPER BOWL just because you think it would be boring or your team isn't going. And if you do do that your not a football fan. You are the team your rooting for's fan. Does that make any sense?
Anyway lets hope I don't have to wait any longer for my team to go to the Super Bowl.
GOOOOOOOOOO Ravens!!!!!

Nope. I always watch the Super Bowl, even if I don't give a crap about the teams playing in it. It's the last time I'll see a football game for over 7 months.

Lotsa all people is hoping that the two favorite communities, the Eagles and the Chargers, could be a solid matchup. some others are thinking a superbowl rematch of the 2001 pastime, while Baltimore performed The Giants and gained. i wish that this is 2 chicken communities. The Cardinals/Eagles vs. the Ravens. i could like to have a "birds eye view" of that pastime. hehe!

There is only 1 match up I will not watch: Eagles vs Patriots, I hate both teams and therefore I would pray like hell for a tie even though I know its not possible. Any other time it is a national holiday for me.

I'll watch the Super Bowl no matter what.

No, I fully plan on watching... nothing beats the commercials, even if I'm not interested in the teams. Considering my team hasn't been the Superbowl in eons, I can't be that picky.
