  • Car problem? I hope someone can help!?

Hello, I have a 1998 jeep cherokee classic. My car runs fine the first time I start it, it turns maybe once or twice and kicks right in. Heres the problem, if I were to shut my car off before the cars temperature reaches 210, which is its normal warmed up operating temperature, it will not turn back on! I mean the thing will not even turn over. If it is at a dead cold sitting there for hrs, no problem but lets say I take a ride around the block and it reaches lets say 180 and I shut the car off, it will not re-fire for a long period of time. Heres the other thing I don't understand: Tonight I forget to let it warm up fully, and shut it off, ran into the store and back out, it was maybe 15 mins top. Came back out and I turn the key to the start position, and nothing, so I figured alright it is going to play games with me again. Eventually after about 20 mins of turning the thing from off to start it all of a sudden fired up on the first turn over. I know for a fact it is not the battery or the starter itself as they were both replaced recently. The problem is somewhere between the key and the starter. When I take it to my mechanic it never does it and it is getting really annoying having to wait for the truck to warm up every time. Does anybody know what could be wrong?

One additional detail if it helps, once the truck hits its operating temperature, I can sit out there all day and turn the thing on and off problem free. Also when I have this problem and the key is in the start position, I hear 2 quick clicks and nothing else reguardless how long I hold the key in the on position and I here the clicks every time I go back and fourth between on and start or off to start.

Thank you everyone for help! Lee

  • i need more help with my hot tub?

Thank you every one for helping me with my last problem with my light, I got it working and currently the pressure switch for the light only turns the light on. It will not shut the light until the power to the control box is off, then the pressure switch will turn it on and off .(I can hear it pulling in and out) I currently have it wired as Normally open to the lighting transformer, and com is the line side of the switch. I tried a brand new pressure switch and the same result. Any ideas as to what is wrong would be awesome.

Second problem, I have this copper looking wire coming down from my thermostat. It is not a copper wire, I tried to take continuity with it and it is not conductive, however it is some kind of wire, I am guessing the thermostat. Here is my problem where do I hook it up to? I have a few pics of the wire and the control area, but I am lost as to where this copper wire hooks into. I thought it might be a ground wire but it can't be because it isn't conductive..

You can see the copper wire on the right side of the second pic. It has to go somewhere over to the right, right? That wire reaches to about the middle of the motor. I am completely stumped! Thanks for all your help!

  • Help please! I have a question about my hot tub?

I have 2 questions. First where can I buy a replacement bulb for my hot tub? I just bought a used hot tub and there was no bulb in the socket. All I know is that it is a 12 volt ac bulb. I tested the switch and socket and they both work, so that is not an issue. I would assume it looks like a brake light bulb? Second question I have is that, since I don't have a wiring schematic, or anything I am not sure how to hook up the thermostat. What puzzles me is where does te copper wire from the thermostat go. It comes from the control panel on top of the hot tub, not the one on the bottom by the pump. Everything else works great! Thank you for all your help you can give me. I don't know if this helps the control box down by the pump is made by IPI. I can't get a wiring diagram from them any more because they went out of business. Thanks again!

  • what exactly do I get taxed on with my stocks???

Hi! I just received my 2009 paper work from my broker today and I was looking it over and saw all the stocks that I sold in 2009. Here is what I don't understand, I know I will be taxed on my dividends which are added up and the amount is correct. Now I sold some stocks in 2009, and they are showing the total amounts that I received when I sold them. Am I going to have to pay tax on the entire amount that I sold it for or is it the difference that I profited from my original buy. The other thing I don't understand is that on some of my stocks that I sold, I lost money and my broker doesn't show the amount I lost after I sold it, don't I get a deduction on the difference from the original buy until I sold it.

  • taxes for 2009...stock loss?

I bought Wamu in Sept. 08 at 3.00 dollars a share. After the stock crashed and burned, to help recoup some of my losses, about 6 months ago I bought more shares at I think .10 or 12 cents a share to try and knock down my losses. Here is my question, I sold all of my shares of Wamu, what happens when I report it for a loss on my taxes? I know if I sold it for a gain I have to pay taxes, but what happens since I sold it for a huge loss? Thank You!!!

  • Can somebody explain to me how this rule is legal?

I see it all the time, A receiver has the ball and he stiff arms the defender in the face mask. How is this legal? I thought you were not allowed to touch a players helmet, Isn't that illegal hands to the face or a face mask penalty? I understand the purpose of stiff arming but when they do it to the face mask it completely gives the receiver the advantage.
