Pat Robertson suggests that the earthquake in Haiti happened because Haitians made a pact with Satan. WHAT?!?

I'm pretty sure that Robertson, in his own particularly hateful and ignorant fashion, was referring to a Voodoo ceremony that was supposedly performed at Bois Caiman 22 August 1791 by the leader of the "Maroon slaves", Dutty Boukman. It was supposedly the event that touched off the Haitian revolution. Of course, since Voodoo practitioners worship Loa spirits, and don't believe in Satan, Robertson is a complete dolt for saying they made some sort of pact with "the devil". They were actually worshiping the Voodoo Loa Ogoun.

But to bigots like Robertson, everyone else's gods are his devil.

Actually Pat made a pact with Satan a long time ago - that's what got a worthless terd like him on TV all the time taking $5 bills from old ladies. And to cover this up he has to accuse other people of making a pact with Satan.

Listen! I am Dominican and i feel awful for what happend in haiti and i am so sad i felt like crap when i heard about the eathquake in haiti. But let me tell you something Pat is RIGHT!!!!! they did made a Pact with the Devil but of course theirs no proof that that was the caused of an earthquake but how can a 7.0 earthquake not affect the dominican republic? Let me tell you something MOST hatians practice vootoos and GOD is AGAINST THAT and is tru haiti is desperately poor it gets worse everyday and if you look at DR it looks alot healthier. So Pat was totally right he just said it at the wrong time and truth hurts but ITS THE REALITY PEOPLE!!

Well, I researched this online. Now - Robertson (in my opinion) does not have a view that lines up with The Bible. In other words, I think he's dead wrong regarding his analysis of why the earthquake occurred. However, there **is** a Haitian myth that is well-known in Haitian culture about the leaders of the revolution (from the French) making a compact with the Devil.

Well,if you research good ol' Pat he aint no Angel.But listen.While we can't be for sure,let's face it.God has destroyed people and countries before due to their pagan whorship.And boy there was alot of that in Haiti.Do your research..So lets not throw Pat off the cliff he's not to far from the truth wether we like it or not.
