Would you expect the correlation coefficient for the line of best fit to be positive or negative? Explain your answer. ty so much in advance

    the correlation should be positive, as the population is increasing over time.

    in fact, given the data you put up, the correlation coefficient is about 0,88114

    The population is going up and down, but it is going up more than down. It is trending positively. It thus has a POSITIVE correlation with time, albeit not a very strong one.
