Because of a handful of radical terrorists who coordinated successful attacks on the Twin Towers in New York and the Pentagon in Washington D.C. on September 11, 2001, the United States eventually entered two major conflicts (Afghanistan and Iraq). This makes me recall how World War I essentially started; due to the successful assassination of one Archduke Francis Ferdinand.

After he was killed, a domino effect began and the major European powers declared war on each other. Prior to hostilities, the European powers were interlocked into a weave of alliances. Many countries therefore declared war on each other based on the simple premises of their allies being threatened by an adversary. Soon afterwards the whole European continent along with its many colonies throughout the world was engulfed into one of the deadliest conflicts in history.

Based on these historical realities, I would surmise then that it really wouldn't take much to start World War Three. The current political and economic climate is ripe and I believe that the next major war will center on the Middle East, especially Israel. The Jewish state is a country that since its inception in 1948 has been attacked almost without cease. It is surrounded by countries who are either less than friendly or bent on its complete eradication. As one of the few truly democratic bulwarks in this region, Israel serves as a vital interest for the U.S. and its allies. So it’s unlikely that the rest of the world can avoid being sucked into another major conflict centered on the Middle East as was seen during the first and second gulf wars.

Whether you agree or disagree with current U.S. policy towards Israel is irrelevant. Israel and other Middle Eastern countries (Iraq, Iran, Syria, etc.) will continually remain in media headlines almost indefinitely. Iran’s nuclear threat and its ever increasing attempt to influence political outcomes in other countries through terrorist groups such as Hamas will eventually take its toll and will undoubtedly tip the scales towards some sort of major conflict in the near future.

Another major player in the world today and almost entirely forgotten because of its diminished role as a major super power is Russia. Despite its downfall as the Soviet Union, Russia is still one of the top suppliers of weapons around the world and it certainly has its own interests in the Middle East. In fact most of the Middle Eastern armies in this region have been and are still currently supplied by our old cold war adversary.

Along with highly sophisticated conventional weapons, Russia has also exported its knowledge of nuclear technology to countries such as North Korea and Iran. Rumblings in Russian politics also suggest that as a nation, Russia is not content playing second fiddle to the U.S. and has ambitious goals toward enlarging its influence in the Middle East. Some have argued that for Russia to regain its footing as a top tier world power it would need to improve its economic and political footing. This may involve a full out incursion south towards Israel as the only viable route to expand its power base since Europe and other central Asian countries such as Afghanistan, which currently holds the attention of the US and its NATO allies, along with China are out of the question as far as being potential regions deemed accessible for expansion.

Russia is still a worthy adversary to be reckoned with despite the United States’ fairing as being the victors of the Cold War. The recent conflict involving Georgia, an independent nation that was once a Soviet province, shows how relations between the U.S. and Russia are still tenuous at best.

If you recognize these trends and agree with most of what I’ve explained then I would encourage you to read the Bible, especially Ezekiel chapter 38-39. Keep in mind that the names of many nations mentioned in this passage have changed since Ezekiel’s writings some 2000 plus years ago. But you will also recognize some names that haven’t changed entirely such as Ethiopia, Libya, and Persia (Iran). To this day for example, many Iranians prefer to be called Persians. In any event, I encourage anyone interested to delve into this passage and the rest of the Bible for insight into how events in human history will eventually play out.

Whether you believe in the Bible or not, my hope is that you will not allow yourself to be lulled into the false notion that the world is becoming a safer place. It’s not. The advent of a nuclear exchange is very plausible and World War Three seems to be very much upon us. So I encourage you to pursue truth and seek understanding. Your inquiry should begin with Jesus. Find out who He is and why He is so important. The Bible would be a good place to begin your inquiry. Jesus claimed in the book of John 14:6, “I am the way, the truth, and the life. No one comes to the Father except through Me.”

    God Bless.

The military-industrial complex of this nation will eventually demand a war of this kind.

Any person, any organization can read anything into current international topics and come

up with virtually any scenario. Oh yes, it WILL happen. When ? No one knows.

War is an inevitability. Our economy thrives on it, science makes it's greatest advances because

of it and new leaders grow out of it.

An old soldier once said he didn't know what kind of weapons WW III would be fought with, but

he was very sure that WW IV would be fought with rocks and sticks.

The best idea ? Build yourself a tight little place, off-the-grid and as far from "civilization"

as you can get. The mountains are always a good bet. Lay in a two-three year supply of food,

arm yourself and your loved ones to the teeth and convert those "paper comodities"

to specie. I.E. gold and silver Then just sit back and watch the world self-destruct while you sit

warm, snug, well-fed and well-armed away from the craziness.

It will get crazy, it's already starting. Believe your beliefs, but don't let them become a millstone

    around your neck.

    'Nuff said

Make no mistake about it - World War 3 is going to happen, sooner or later. Do I know when? Of course not - nobody can predict the future. Some thought the War on Terrorism would lead to WW3. With North Korea's threat of nuclear weaponry (and Kim Jong-Il being insane...) there's a possibility they could trigger an incident. Or China. Or somebody else.

If it happens, then you will make some adjustments in your lifestyle. If a few

large cities go up in smoke, then survivors will move elsewhere, as they did

from New Orleans. They get assimilated into other cities. In the case of

7 million people in a mess as Port au Prince, Haiti, a lot of resources need

to be mobilized. But, when the people have the water and food they need

    to survive, then what?

In Haiti, this would be a great opportunity to reset the model. They could

rebuild their country with a little help from their friends. Houses and public

buildings could be rebuilt with earthquake protection. A power and commu-

nications grid with wi-fi, sewers that work, a business model that provides

employment, a clean water system, a re-forested landscape that absorbs

    rainwater.

You can look at the future as bringing opportunities to serve, to learn and grow,

to find great happiness and to share that.

If conflict erupted yes other countries will step in mostly on south korea's side if not unanimously. Current sociological ideas are military force should only be used in defense of oneself or someone else. It will probably be akin to iraq's invasion of Kuwait and the UN evicting them out. It probably won't happen because the odds are stacked against N. Korea in its best interests in the long term it'll grumble and shout but true action not sure. It only takes two fools to start a war though.

  • Yes dude i am in the same boat as you man it is bound to happen join the military now and get trained. Buy ammo and weapons and lots of it be ready dude. Sincerely name a time in history when there hasent been some kind of war. See ya there brotha!

Im a Cadet Chaplain currently in the US Army, and yes I strongly believe that it is around the corner. Read the book of Revelation, it is some eye opening stuff, but as long as you put your faith in Jesus Christ and know Him as Personal Lord and Saviour, you have nothing to fear.

Its unavoidable. Eventually at some point it will happen. Its certainly brewing these days. Between terrorism, the growth of oppressive governments, the loss of freedom, poverty, failing economies... at some point it will happen.

History can only ever repeat itself. People were not meant to be at peace, or it would have happened by now.

its safe, too many rich people have too much to lose if the world went to war, look at all that money and power that will go down the drain, they would never let it happen, also its why a nuke war is unlikely, the rich have too much to lose so don't worry
