Isn't it true that the more pride one has, the more one dislikes pride in others?

If not, how do you find out how proud you are?

That actually sounds very similar to a C.S. Lewis quote. Pride, hubris, self righteousness, being assured of one's self, arrogance, self centeredness and so on and so forth, is the essential problem of the human nature. No one is exempt. Everyone has these qualities manifesting themselves in a multitude of different ways within them. When one is so very annoyed by the arrogance of another it may be a sign that they have not been humbled by their own self assured nature. Someone who is unaware of their own lack of humility is encapable of compassion for someone who suffers from the very same problem

Also pride again may appear in countless ways, but a part of its' primary essence is the constant comparison of one's self to everyone else. Constantly weighting our own worth against everyone else's worth desiring to be more important, valuable, intelligent, beautiful, etc. So when one detects arrogance and pride in another it is a direct threat and challenge to their own perceived worth. So again as long as someone's mind and heart are set in this "worldly, humanistic" way of thinking one is always bound to be irritated by the pride in others because it demands them to measure whether they are higher or lower than their prideful counterpart.

The more pride a person has, the more tyrannical they become.

    Meaning:

If someone comes up with a good idea that they did not come up with, they will not like the idea much.

They will dislike it when someone has an opposing opinion; they don't like being challenged by another.

If they are criticized about an issue concerning them, they will go on the attack. Sometimes, what hey throw at you, has nothing to do with the issue. It is simply because they can't handle being questioned or criticized in anyway.

They would rather everyone have the same mind as them, otherwise there might be issues.

I dont think thats true. I look at how prideful people are getting these days in their cars, money, looks, dress, music, language, it almost scares me. Yes I can be prideful in my own way but I can see the lines are being crossed further and further on a larger scale. I think a person who is without pride can sometimes be more accepting of others pride and weaknesses

Pride is basically a competition to see who can stick their chins the highest up...

  • I'm a pretty proud guy---got a really big dick and an even bigger I.Q.

And yet I love proud people, so long as they're not douche bags. In fact, I'd wager to say I love everyone... for more philosophical reasons, of course.

Maybe not love, but I have empathy and understanding toward every decision someone makes, knowing and understanding full well that being angry with any decision is folly...

    *Shrugs*

    I don't dislike people.

And yet I am proud of this; I am proud of not disliking people.

I'm not especially proud, I just don't like to be bothered. Anyway I'm too ugly to be proud.

When I see a young child with pride, it is inspirational. -- When I see an adult who brags , it makes me want to vomit.

Jam 4:6 But he giveth more grace. Wherefore he saith, God resisteth the proud, but giveth grace unto the humble.

Ask God if you have it, He loves us to want to be like Him, but I hope you have the Holy Spirit Luke11:13, its the power to live this life just like Jesus.

I don't care if someone is proud or not, but my ego is so big you're standing in it. You breath it. How does that ego taste?

Nope, I should know; I'm nearly perfect and I still don't completely hate everyone.
