It is a belief that a person subscribes to because someone, usually a person in a position of authority who they trust tells them it is true. It could be true or false, but there is no basis for avowing as to its authenticity other than the word of the person perpetuating the "truth."

    Frequently, it is an oxymoron.

Dogma is an ingrained belief most often associated with religion. Atheists tend to discount most dogma as false or misinterpreted or baseless. So when you hear someone talking about dogmatic truth, it is either an accidental truth, or an outright lie.

It's a contradiction. Unless it's a self evident truth, which in most cases it isn't when involving dogma.
