I need to know the answer to this riddle...?

I think the food choked his throught, and then he died out of suffocation.

The story does not state that Michael was in perfect health. Though he maybe was not allergic, his medical condition may have caused his death.

There could have been an accident, either one spilling his drink, Michael slipping in the iced tea and hitting his head on the corner of the table.

Michael as guest lives somewhere else. After having drunk iced tea he needed to use a bathroom, couldn't find one and was run over by a bus because he was looking for a toilet in stead of paying attention to traffic.

Or maybe John stabbed him with a knife/fork and Michael slowly bled to death
