Where have all the millions of dollars to Haiti gone from previous years?

They have nothing in that country....nothing! Yet, last year, according to 20/20 the U.S. gave 192,000,000 to this country in that year alone. Someone PLEASE explain to me why the government isn't being investigated? We know they have a corrupt government yet it is ignored and the U.S. will come out looking like the bad guys because the people didn't receive relief aid until days later...

Update:

Whose talking about stepping into a country and taking over? The country must be accountable for itself!!! Let the government answer to questions as to where all this money is going...

No, they will blame America for not helping sooner........and so it goes.

I am sick and tired of (for generations) giving foreign aid to these welfare nations!!

@ P.K. -

They have no infrastructure or police services...they have nothing. More than three quarters of the population do not work!

Update 2:

@ Mottthedog -

There is a big difference between Haiti and Dubai

The USA could not just walk into Haiti and take over without asking permission to do certain things. They allowed for the US to manage the airport but to police the nation with our troops is not often something a nation will let happen. Especially dictators because they are so afraid of being overthrown. Former kings and Pharaohs in ancient times would kill anyone they feared of taking their thrown or leadership position. History doesn't change. It just repeats itself. There is nothing new under the sun.

Giving the nation money is the wrong thing to do. Bring them fire trucks, build them houses, but money and supplies will always go into corrupt hands.

Those millions have gone into that 'palace' where the President abides, in stark contrast to the shacks of the locals which have 4 mud brick walls and a tin roof. Actually, Haiti could be an African state, as this dichotomy is all over this continent.

You could ask this same question of many of the Middle East Muslim countries, and the answer would be about the same. The money ends up in the pockets of the leaders or in their Swiss bank accounts.

the U.S. probably supports it without limitations so that we can get their support in the U.N.

Haiti was deeply in debt and much of the money has gone straight back to other countries to service that debt.

There was/is corruption, but Haiti is a poor country and aid also went to pay for basic infrastructure and public services.

You may well ask and before it all goes wrong again, send aid but not in dollars but skill. The skill to rebuild homes etc that wont turn to dust or collapse like a house of cards.
