Did the Oilers drop the ball with Rob Schremp?

He was a junior star, but could never crack the Oilers' lineup. Now he's putting up decent numbers on a pretty good Isles' team, while the Oilers are looking at blowing up their team to build for the future?

Was Schremp really not good enough, or is this another example of the ineptitude of the Oilers' brass?

Schremp was always good enough but when considering his off ice habits its no wonder why it took him so long to crack the nhl, or why the Oilers never played him. Apparently back in the ohl we was constantly drinking at the bar but never got disciplined because of all the points he put up. Im guessing his habits didnt change much in the ahl and thats why hes never really gotten a chance until now.

  • Oilers loss is the Isles gain. I'm sure they will take a 40 point pace from a 3rd line forward. He needs to be more consistent, as he has taken more time away form Jeff Tambellini as the season moves on. Just another one of those "Change of Scenery" moves that has paid off, at least for now. Still might be too soon to say whether or not the Oilers blew it. There are too many examples of one season wonders.

Way to early to tell, he has not done a whole lot with the Isles, he is on a 40 point pace for a full season, doesn't make me that excited, although when he has some space he is fun to watch, but can he make his own space? he has some great skills but can he translate those to consistent points? Again, to early to say that the Oilers made another brainless move.
