Would you agree that repetition of stuff breeds contempt ?

Hi Folks,

I am stuck, recovering from a broken leg, so "confined to barracks" for a few weeks.

Bored witless.

I never realised that the 100 odd channels on TV are mainly crud, and repeticious.

You get fed up with practicing guitar, fed up with writing letters, fed up with computers etc etc.

I have a cheerful outlook on life, but counting the times that a particular winter bird goes out foraging is getting a bit soul-destroying.

How do I do a bit more to keep the brain going, whilst the leg is useless ?

Any ideas ?

Bob

There is nothing greater than divine wisdom-finding out how God wants us to live. So perhaps delve into The holy Bible? Just a suggestion.

Read a good book. Suggestions: All the Pretty Horses, Let the Great World Spin, The God of Small Things.

Or re-read one of the greats you have already enjoyed, like The Catcher in the Rye.

Not really only receptiveness of things that you don't enjoy or that annoy you breed contempt. eg, your mother getting you up, washing and feeding you was repetitive and that wouldn't necessarily ''breed contempt''.
