How can I mend a bustier/corset top with bent bones?

I've bought a really nice bustier/corset type top, but the 4 "bones" in it (2 at the front and 2 at the back) are badly bent, making it sag.

I love the top so I want to just replace the bones, but I'm not sure:

a) if this can be done as these bones are not in pockets I can slide them out of but are sewn into the top,

b) where to buy replacement bones - can't find any on ebay.co.uk, not sure where else to look. Thinking of buying another corset top just to salvage and reuse the bones. My nearest alteration shop says they might be able to do it but I'd have to buy the bones myself, and their repairs are expensive too!

c) Can I just straighten out the bones without removing them? That would be ideal if possible as I wouldn't have so much sewing to do.

d) or, can I somehow sew the existing bones onto new ones on the inside of the top, so the new ones will keep the old ones straight without me having to unpick the old ones and sew the top together again first?

Please let me know if some or all of this question isn't clear!

Update:

I've unpicked a little and the bones seem to be plastic - some of the stitching goes through them. Tried just bending them back but they don't stay where I put them, and I guess I'd have to heat them to a higher temperature than the fabric would stand to permenantly set the plastic straight again? Although could maybe try a hot iron on the wrong side...

You should be able to buy the "rods" at a fabric store...it's sold as boning and you'd cut it to the length you need. Also, you'll probably have to open up the pocket the bent rods are in and remove them, then insert the new boning cut to length and sew it back up again. I have actually made several tops that required boning and never had any trouble finding it in a fabric store. Hope this was helpful and good luck!

Well first of all, having not seen it, I have no idea how badly it's bent. Any time I've had that happen, I've been able to straighten them inside of the material without having to remove anything. They were just flat aluminum rods so they bent fairly easily back into place. If they are too severely bent, then you'll probably have to replace them. Have you tried craft stores to locate the rods? I mention that because there are patterns out there to make them. Other then that, you may have to purchase a cheap bustier and remove its rods.
