What do you like/dislike about independent films?

like about indies: because they are a small movies, they tend not to use big screen explosions/too much drama. there is no "big hollywood production" feel to them. therefore, they can be offensive, since they are not trying to target a large audience. they tend to be more "artsy" and do not stick to the rigid and precise camera movements of large hollywood productions. that being said, they can also be "crappier" in the fact that they are low budget and most of the time hire less known actors.

dislike: because they are lowbudget, the editing/filming/acting may seem a little shoddier. however, i personally enjoy watching indie films because they tend to have more meaning to them other than "hey, lets entertain audiences."

it makes good story lines than those big budget Hollywood films.

it depends. some are directors and actors trying to make a break in the industry but some are just crap

for me it depends on how well it was made! i dont like watching movies that look fake!
